Brixton, Stockwell and Clapham are among the areas seeing roads shut from this month
Several road closures are planned across Lambeth this month, with areas in Brixton, Stockwell and South Lambeth among those most affected.
Some of the closures will only last for a few days, while others will be for several weeks. One road closure affecting Sail Street in Kennington is expect to last until the end of November.
Most of the roads will close because of scheduled works from Thames Water, Network Rail, Southern Gas Networks or Openreach however, a road in Clapham will close for two days so a street party can take place.
The street party will be hosted by LGBTQ+ bar and nightclub, Two Brewers, and will take place from 12pm to 10pm on Saturday, June 27. According to its website, entry costs £12 to enter and will feature the likes of musical duo, Booty Luv and actor and singer, Adam Rickitt.
Norwood is another Lambeth neighbourhood which has been impacted by a road closure that will last for a few days.
Other Lambeth areas which will be impacted by road closures include Stockwell and Norwood.
Using information provided by one.network, which provides real-time updates on road closures and roadworks, the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) has compiled a list of upcoming closures and the exact date Lambeth residents can expect roads to reopen.
Lambeth road closures in June
- Dalberg Road (Brixton): Road closed from June 8 to June 17, again from June 18 to June 26, and from June 29 to July 14 for water works
- Bedford Road (Brixton): Road closed from June 25 to June 26 for rail infrastructure works
- Cottage Grove (Brixton): Road closed from June 25 to June 26 for rail infrastructure works
- Ferndale Road (Brixton): Road closed from June 27 to June 29 for rail infrastructure works
- Knatchbull Road (Stockwell): Road closed from June 8 to June 12 for water works
- Stockwell Park Road (Stockwell): Road closed from June 11 to June 12 for water works
- Thorparch Road (South Lambeth): Road closed from June 17 to June 19 for telecomms works
- Crimsworth Road (South Lambeth): Road closed from June 17 to June 19 for telecomms works
- Prescott Place (Clapham): Road closed from June 26 to June 28 for a street party organised by Two Brewers
- Cawnpore Street (Norwood): Road closed from June 19 to June 22 for gasworks
- Sail Street (Kennington): Road closed from June 15 to November 30 for rail infrastructure works
