Big Brother UK 2023 star Yinrun Huang couldn’t contain her excitement when a famous A-lister took to the stage to sing a popular song at Potters Field in London
Attendees at a recent central London event were utterly stunned when they realised the person who stepped up to perform was none other than a major Hollywood star.
Yinrun Huang, who rose to fame on the 2023 reboot of Big Brother UK, was fortunate enough to attend the launch celebration with her husband, Luke, marking the release of Disney’s live-action remake of 2016’s Moana, which is due to hit cinemas on July 10. The crowd was completely bowled over when a well-known voice, and face, from the beloved franchise took to the stage to belt out a fan-favourite number, ‘You’re Welcome,’ and Yinrun simply couldn’t hold back her delight.
“Maui sings to us LIVE! in London!” Yinrun gushed, and of course, Maui is played by none other than 54-year-old Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in both versions of the movie.
Yinrun gushed he has “such a great singing voice,” and praised the British Theatre Academy dancers in the background, too, who were likely having the time of their lives.
She described the moment as a “core memory” at London’s Potters Field, and fans online were green with envy she had witnessed him perform the iconic song at such close quarters.
Someone wrote: “Just when you think you couldn’t possibly love him any more than you already do.”
“Really great to see, thanks for sharing this, he’s such a legend!!” another gushed.
In a separate clip from the occasion, Yinrun revealed that prior to The Rock’s appearance, “rumours” had been swirling that he would be in attendance and ready to perform for the crowd. They watched a series of traditional Hula and Ori dance performances, with the pair noting that “everyone was hyped up by their passionate moves” as they’re “just full of energy”.
They were then fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of the real-life Moana, 19-year-old Catherine Laga’aia, leaving Yinrun saying she “couldn’t believe” she was standing right in front of them.
The atmosphere then shifted, as they could “sense the tension in the air” with “people whispering and security guards everywhere”. Moments later, The Rock himself made his entrance.
“He walks on the main stage right next to the giant magical fish hook, then he actually picks up Maui’s Fish Hook in the movie, and everyone was screaming at this point,” Yinrun declared it was “so magical”.
A particular highlight came when The Rock waved directly at them ahead of his performance of Your Welcome.
She also managed to receive a fistbump from him during the event, a moment she gleefully replayed in slow motion on her video.
“This is so cool,” gushed one viewer, while another expressed they were “so excited” for her, describing it as “such an incredible experience”.
