BTP has released a CCTV image of a man investigators need to identify in connection
A woman was sexually assaulted on the London Underground. The shocking incident happened on the Piccadilly line at around 6.30pm on Friday, April 3.
The British Transport Police (BTP) said a man boarded an eastbound train at Knightsbridge and chose to stand directly next to the victim, despite there being ample room on the carriage. He then sexually assaulted the woman, who shouted at him in response.
BTP has now released footage of a man officers want to speak to in connection with the case. “Detectives believe the man in the CCTV image may have information that could assist their ongoing investigation,” a BTP spokesperson said.
The picture shows a middle-aged White man with short grey hair. He is wearing a grey checked shirt under a black jacket.
Anyone with relevant information is asked to come forward as soon as possible.
BTP is also working to identify a man who bit a passenger’s finger and threatened to kill people on a train. He exited the Cannon Street to Orpington service at New Cross station shortly after 9.20pm on May 21 and is yet to be traced.
Anyone who recognises the man pictured is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 684 of 3 April. Information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111.
