The tennis star’s estimated net worth already dwarfs that of Emma Raducanu and Andy Murray
Arthur Fery is, without question, the wealthiest British tennis player currently competing professionally. The 23-year-old comes from an exceptionally privileged background, with his father Loic Fery having built an extraordinary fortune through his work in the finance sector.
In 2023, Loic featured at number 398 on France’s rich list with an estimated net worth of £275million. He took ownership and became president of Ligue 1 side FC Lorient in 2009, though he parted ways with the club earlier this year, reports the Mirror.
Fery was educated at a local independent school in Wimbledon with annual fees of £33,000, before securing a scholarship in the United States, where he furthered his tennis development. Fery has earned £650,000 ($868k) in prize money during his time competing on the ATP tour and is poised to collect an additional £900,000 for progressing to the Wimbledon semi finals after beating Flavio Caballo on Wednesday (July 8).
If Fery manages to defeat world no.2 Alexander Zverev on Friday (July 10) and find himself in the final, he could see that prize pot grow to a staggering £1,800,000.
His family’s considerable wealth means Fery’s net worth already eclipses that of any other British tennis player. Andy Murray, Britain’s former golden boy and three-time Grand Slam winner, amassed a fortune of £110m, according to the most recent Forbes rich list. Emma Raducanu, who triumphed at the 2021 US Open and landed lucrative endorsement contracts with brands including Dior, Porsche and British Airways, possesses a net worth of £13.5m.
Casting his mind back to his time at Stanford in the US, Fery said: “Yeah, yeah, it’s been a while now, three years since I was there. Yeah, spent three years at Stanford as a transition after my career as a junior. Yeah, really loved it. Don’t regret it at all.”
He added: “I came out with a lot of hunger coming out of that, and I was ready to attack the pro circuit. Learnt a lot. Made some great friends. The coaches are awesome, and obviously it was a great academic school, as well. Provided me with a backup in case tennis didn’t work out.”
