There’s another heatwave on the way according to meteorologists
After a period of cooler weather, it seems the heat is set to return with another heatwave.
Over the last few weeks, we have seen consistently high temperatures above 29C, and those days are set to return next week, according to the BBC’s 14-day weather forecast.
From Wednesday, July 29, temperatures will reach 28C, the lowest for the next five days. To be considered a heatwave, an area has to meet a local threshold temperature for three or more days on the trot.
These range from 25C, for example in Scotland and Wales, to 28C, the case here in London.
28C and above will be the theme of the week, as London will see sweltering heat again, with consistent sunny spells.
During the last heatwave at the beginning of the month, London was issued multiple weather warnings due to the extreme heat.
Train services were also pushed to the edge with several cancellations across the entire network as the service struggled to deal with the heat.
Even before the ‘heatwave’ is officially set to begin, temperatures in London are still going to be high with the lowest temperature being recorded today at 25C.
When does the heatwave begin?
The heatwave will officially begin on Wednesday, July 28, as temperatures hit 28C.

- Friday, July 31: sunny and a gentle breeze
