The minimal house DJ is set to host a BYOG Club Night in October
DJ Rossi is used to spinning the decks and getting the party started in Ibiza, not to mention bringing the vibes to UK festivals this summer, but playing sets for the grannies is new.
The minimal house DJ, who has been playing at the likes of Hï Ibiza, DC10 and Pacha across the summer, is hosting a BYOG Club Night (Bring Your Own Grandparent) with Kahlúa, for the one-night-only, Not A Nightcap party at Number 90, Hackney Wick on October 8.
“I never thought I’d be telling people to bring their grandparents to a club night, but here we are and I’m absolutely here for it. They’ve had their fair share of big nights over the years, so I reckon they might even show the rest of us how it’s done,” said DJ Rossi.
The DJ joins the Kahlúa new campaign, which also features 81-year-old Grimegran (AKA Margie Keefe) and her grandson Beau the Beard, as well as Irish TikTok creator Grandad Frank, in a hilarious, telenovela-inspired video, Not A Nightcap filmed at an old people’s home, showing them that it’s far from bedtime but time to party with the Mexican coffee cream.
“Kahlúa Coffee Cream is smooth and creamy with a proper coffee kick!” Grimegran said. “It’s got way more life in it than most people my age, trust me babes. So grab your granny or grandad, gather your mates, and let’s show ‘em how a real party’s done.”
There will be a fully stocked bar including Kahlúa Coffee Cream serves – as well as areas for grandparents to relax once they’ve worked up a sweat on the dance floor. To bag complimentary tix, party-goers simply need to go to Eventbrite today – but you’ll need to move fast, as they’re set to disappear quickly!
“I’ll be bringing the tunes, while Kahlúa Coffee Cream brings something creamy, dreamy and a little unexpected to the night. Good music, good people, a few drinks and your nan cutting shapes on the dance floor – what’s not to love? Grab your tickets, and I’ll see you in Hackney Wick,” DJ Rossi added.
The party comes as drinking habits are shifting earlier with growing demand for more relaxed early evening occasions. A recent survey of UK adults by Kahlúa Coffee Cream revealed that seven in 10 Brits (71%) love the idea of classic spirits getting a shake-up, while 82% of 18 to 35-year-olds feel that serving Kahlúa Coffee Cream chilled as either a shot or a cocktail makes them think about it differently.
“Who decided cream liqueur was exclusively for nightcaps? We certainly didn’t,” said Craig Van Niekerk, VP of Marketing at Kahlúa.
“Kahlúa Coffee Cream is here to stir things up – bringing a smooth coffee twist that’s just as at home at a casual catch-up as it is after dinner. Because great drinks shouldn’t be saved for special occasions.”
Launched in selected airports in April, Kahlúa Coffee Cream will roll out across markets including Global Travel Retail in Europe, the UK, Mexico, Sweden, Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Turkey, Slovenia and Germany from September 2026.
