A Marks and Spencer lamp that’s been ‘selling out every year’ is back, and it’s already marked ‘in demand’ on the website. The Joshua Ceramic Striped Rechargeable Table Lamp costs £49.50 and comes in both navy and green. The lamp has a striped ceramic base and a matching empire shade.

There are three dimmable light settings, and they’re touch-activated. The lamp is portable and rechargeable. One charge lasts for eight hours on full brightness, and the lamp comes with its own USB-C charging cable. Marks and Spencer says: “Our Joshua table lamp is portable, so you can get the lighting just right wherever you are. This rechargeable style features a pattern of vertical stripes from the square ceramic base to the classic empire shade, for a bold aesthetic.”

Elsewhere, there’s the Suzie Striped Woven Table Lamp for £35 at Dunelm. While the striped lamp is not portable, it does have a perfect five stars.

The lamp has a striped ceramic base and a matching empire shade. There are three dimmable light settings, and they’re touch-activated. The lamp is portable and rechargeable. One charge lasts for eight hours on full brightness, and the lamp comes with its own USB-C charging cable.

On the cheaper side, the Green & White Stripe Battery Scallop Shade Lamp is £14 at George at Asda. The battery-powered lamp has a handy timer feature.

Back at Marks and Spencer, the Joshua lamp has 4.5 stars from 88 reviews. One person said: “This looks really smart and matches the basic colour scheme of our Cornish cottage. It brings light to an area where we have no nearby electric sockets. Only extra thing that I would like is for the charging light to flash indicating the need to recharge.”

Another wrote: “A very stylish lamp, which will suit any decor. Although it’s small in stature, it’s very trendy and adds an extra layer illuminating the room.”

“Gorgeous rechargeable lamp,” a third said. “Good for mood lighting and wherever plugs are not accessible. Would highly recommend.”

Another shopper wrote: “Love this lamp – I have both colours but my favourite is the green. I have other rechargeable lamps but these are by far the most stylish. There are three brightness settings – naturally the brighter the light the more often you need to recharge.

“Very useful for areas where there is no plug but you can also use it plugged. Very happy with my purchase and now my daughter is after one too.”

Of the negative reviews, one person said: “I love how this looks but it has such a short battery life. You have to charge it every day if you put it on for an evening.” Another added “The colour of the stripes is much darker than I expected, more of a black than a blue. The battery life is fine but could be better, I have to charge it every 2-3 days using it only in the evenings.”

But another happy shopper said: “I love it! It’s a great little lamp just as it is, but even better that it’s rechargeable so no cable and you can move it from place to place so easily.”

You can buy the Joshua Ceramic Striped Rechargeable Table Lamp from Marks and Spencer. Get the Suzie Striped Woven Table Lamp from Dunelm and the Green & White Stripe Battery Scallop Shade Lamp from George at Asda.
