Londoners finally have a chance to try the chain’s viral banana pudding
New York’s Magnolia Bakery is crossing the pond this month, giving Londoners the opportunity to try the iconic banana pudding. The beloved chain is popping up in Café Ciel, within Raffles London at The OWO, from May 19 to June 10.
Customers can choose between an outdoor kiosk, selling takeaway portions and limited-edition cold drinks, or a sit-down brunch within the hotel. Items available include a banana pudding-flavoured iced matcha and sticky toffee pudding.
For those dining in, the menu boasts dishes inspired by Magnolia Bakery’s home city, such as banoffee French toast, cinnamon swirl American pancakes and a NYC bagel. Banana pudding can also be added to espresso and ice cream to create a unique affogato.
The kiosk, located in the Grand Courtyard, will be open from 10am-7pm every Sunday to Tuesday, and operate on a walk-in basis. In-dining bookings should be made through SevenRooms.
First launched in 1996, Magnolia Bakery is known for its American desserts, including cakes, cupcakes and brownies.
The banana pudding, made with layers of vanilla wafers, fresh bananas and pudding, has gone global, finding a surge in popularity thanks to TikTok and Instagram.
The bakery has now expanded to 48 states and across India, the Philippines and the Middle East. Sadly, a permanent UK location doesn’t look to be on the cards just yet.
Elsewhere in London, viral bakery Get Baked, known for its towering 24-layer Bertha cake, is set to open its first store in the city. Owner Rich Myers confirmed he’s bringing the brand to Covent Garden this summer, teasing a potential opening date of July.
