A man has been charged after a bus driver was assaulted on Battersea Bridge, leaving him in critical condition. Police raced to the scene at about 12.30am on Monday, May 18, after the TfL driver was airlifted to hospital.
He is in a critical condition. A 32-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
Gary Jones, 32, of no fixed address, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm in relation to the incident.
He appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court this morning, Tuesday, May 19, and was remanded in custody ahead of a plea hearing at Kingston Crown Court on Monday, June 15.
