A man in his 20s has been taken to a major trauma centre
A 37-year-old man has been arrested after a stabbing at a Wood Green home in the early hours of this morning (May 19). A man in his 20s was found injured at the property on High Road shortly after 4am following reports of an assault.
Several paramedics and a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance treated the victim for a single knife wound before taking him to a major trauma centre. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing, the Metropolitan Police said in a statement this morning.
Officers detained a 37-year-old man at the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He remains in custody, pending further enquiries.
The stabbing is being treated as an isolated incident, the police force added. A cordon blocked off High Road in both directions between Arcadian Gardens and Lyndhurst Road, but has since been removed.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 4.03am today (19 May) to reports of a stabbing on High Road, Wood Green. We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer and a clinical team manager.
“We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance. We treated a man for a stab wound and took him to a major trauma centre.”
