The victim had his mobile phone nicked, police say
A stranger attacked a disabled man on a South London train before stealing his mobile phone. The shocking incident took place on a service approaching Bromley South station at around 11.30am on Wednesday, May 6.
The victim has been left shaken and extremely distressed, the British Transport Police (BTP) said as the force launches a CCTV appeal for information.
A statement reads: “Detectives would like to speak to the man pictured, as they believe he may have information which could help their investigation.”
The footage shows a Black man, of medium build, with black cornrows. He is wearing a dark-coloured Adidas sweatshirt with a silver chain.
Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 245 of 6 May. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Elsewhere in London, police are seeking two men in connection to an assault on the London Overground.
A passenger was hit in the head with a mobile phone between Surrey Quays and Queens Road Peckham at around 8.45pm on March 18. A woman who attempted to intervene was then racially abused.
