A man recently ordered a sandwich at London’s Savoy Hotel to see if it was worth the money. It’s fair to say that the price of the meal left people totally floored

Every now and then it’s nice to have a treat, with The Savoy Hotel known to offer a particularly luxurious experience; however, recently, the price of items on the menu have left some people taken aback. A man headed to the London hotel to see what food was on offer, and he decided to order a sandwich.

Content creators Gerry and Paul, who are known as Bite Twice on TikTok, recently shared their foodie adventure online and it left many people quite surprised. They decided to treat themselves to a club sandwich at The Savoy, in Westminster, and they wanted to highlight what it was like.

It’s not the first time someone has documented their experience at the hotel either. Previously, a man also noted what happened after he ordered a full English breakfast at the establishment.

In the video, they wanted to know if the £34 sandwich was worth the money, so they went to find out. They then offered their honest thoughts.

The duo ordered The Savoy Club Sandwich and admitted it was “classy”. The French fries which came with the meal were deemed “perfect”, and the sandwich seemed equally tasty.

Gerry said: “Egg, salad, chicken, bacon, tomatoes in a quite frankly perfectly toasted [sandwich]. Absolute quality.

“It’s moist, crunchy, Oh, the eggs are perfect. It’s so good.”

Paul also admitted it’s what a sandwich is “supposed to be”, with Gerry also comparing it to a “work of art”. Gerry added: “If the big man in the sky asked us mere mortals to make a sandwich, I reckon that would be it.”

While they admitted they wouldn’t spend that much on a sandwich every day, as a “one off” treat they admitted it was pretty superb. They’d recommend it if you’re looking to experience something a little bit special.

Over 2,000 people have liked the video since it was shared, and dozens commented too. Many couldn’t get over the price, but people also noted they’ve had great experiences at The Savoy.

One said: “My absolute favourite sandwich is a Club Sandwich. Based on your review, I am off to The Savoy.”

Another wrote: “Love your honesty. No one is paying £35 for a sandwich. Glad to hear it tastes great.”

A third replied: “Went to the cocktail lounge. Really enjoyed it. Not the cheapest but definitely good quality. Worth a visit if you’ve got spare 25 quid for a cocktail and free nibbles.”

Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “It’s a millionaire’s sandwich.” Someone else also noted: “£34 for a sandwich anywhere is ridiculous.”

Nonetheless, Gerry and Paul thought it was worth it for the experience. Sharing their receipt at the end of the video, they revealed the bill came to £39.10 for the food and service.

Others also thought it seemed quite reasonable. A different person wrote: “What a great experience!!! I might do this.”

One more said: “That’s a bargain for quality, quantity and surroundings.” The Savoy has been contacted for further comment.
