Sections of the Piccadilly line are being closed ahead of the introduction of new Tube trains from December
Temporary closures are planned on 12 lines across the capital in June, Transport for London (TfL) has warned. Maintenance and upgrades will take place on almost every Underground and Overground line, with the majority of work scheduled on the weekends.
District line passengers are facing the most disruption when services are paused seven times throughout the month. This includes trains stopping at 2pm in various areas on Saturday, June 13, and then entirely the following day.
Changes are also scheduled on the Elizabeth line and DLR, with some services missing stops or ending earlier than usual. Additionally, RMT Tube strikes may go ahead, meaning there could be more cancellations than those listed below. Here’s what you need to know:
London Underground closures
Circle line
- Saturday, June 13 : No service on the entire line until 10.30am
- Saturday, June 13 : No service from Edgware Road to Tower Hill, via Victoria, until 2pm
District line
- Saturday, June 6 – Sunday, June 7 : No service from Turnham Green to Ealing Broadway
- Saturday, June 13 : No service on the entire line until 10.30am
- Saturday, June 13 : No service from Edgware Road/Embankment to Ealing Broadway/Kensington (Olympia)/Richmond and Wimbledon until 2pm
- Saturday, June 13 – Sunday, June 14 : No service from Barons Court to Stamford Brook after 2pm on Saturday and all day Sunday

TfL previously confirmed sections of the Piccadilly line are being closed in the second half of 2026 ahead of a new fleet of Tube trains being introduced from December.
