A jacket potato kiosk in Central London is earning rave reviews online owing to the incredible size of its spuds, which range in price from £8.50 to £11 with a variety of options
If you’re a fan of jacket potatoes you might want to visit a London shop that claims to sell the “largest in the UK” and boasts a series of incredible five-star reviews from its customer base. Sharing footage from inside their store, Spud Hut took to Instagram to showcase one of their giant spuds.
“Wow, it’s massive,” one customer explained, before requesting a double topping of tuna and cheese with butter, salt, and pepper. The Spud Hut staff member could then be seen mashing up the inside of the jacket potato, sprinkling in the seasoning, and applying generous portions of the tuna and grated mixed cheese.
The employee further topped the potato with crispy onions before presenting the customer with the mouthwatering spud.
So where can you find this establishment? “You can find the UKs biggest jacket potatoes right here at Spud Hut London Bridge! [The Kiosk, 1 Duke St Hill],” they declared in a caption.
According to Spud Hut’s menu, diners have a choice of eight fillings, including The Classic, which is listed as melted butter, gooey cheese, rich baked beans, and crispy onions, finished with a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
Other options, which range in price from £8.50 to £11, include The Indian, The Mexican, The Great British, The American, The Italian, The Big Fish, and The Vegan Chilli.
Customers can also build their own jacket potatoes, choosing from a variety of ingredients, toppings, and sauces.
Spud Hut currently boasts a 100 per cent record of five-star reviews on TripAdvisor, meanwhile. The most recent reads: “Oh my gosh is this place delicious! A friendly and efficient staff served us giant and perfectly cooked potatoes stuffed with creative and downright good fillings.
“We got the Vegan Chili and the American and loved then both. The best stuffed potato we’ve had in London! Cool atmosphere too, underneath London Bridge. Easy access to the London Bridge tube station which is literally across the street.”
Writing in response, one Instagram user declared: “That’s legitimately the biggest potato I’ve ever seen.”
A second person quipped: “How bloody long was that in the ground? It’s massive.”
A third commented: “Damn look at the size of those potatoes, that’s like pedigree potatoes wow. For me salt, loads of butter and then cucumber chopped up. Pieces of cucumber, I know it sounds weird but that’s what I’d like on mine maybe with a little bit of lettuce and onion, that’s it I could eat loads of them.”
And a fourth told the customer: “Dude that’s going to knock you out for the evening. Looks good.”
