A separate emergency services incident further along the busy Seven Sisters Road resulted in a man being rushed to hospital with a head injury
Forensic specialists have been investigating in Islington after multiple young men were arrested and ended up in hospital following an early morning street fight believed to have involved broken bottles. Yonge Park, at the junction of Seven Sisters Road near Finsbury Park, was blocked off for hours on Saturday following the shocking violence.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Our officers arrested four men aged between 24 and 29 following an altercation in Seven Sisters Road at around 7.25am on Saturday, May 30. The men suffered laceration wounds and were taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service, where they remain in a stable condition.
“They will be transferred to custody once treatment has concluded. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Met via 101, quoting 1969/30MAY.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 7.31am to reports of a stabbing on Yonge Park, Islington. We sent ambulance crews, a paramedic from our tactical response unit and an incident response officer to the scene. We treated two patients and took them to hospital.”
While the initial calls to the London Ambulance Service suggested the fight may have involved a stabbing, MyLondon understands the laceration wounds are believed to have been caused by broken bottles being used in the altercation rather than any knives being involved.
There was a second emergency services incident nearby along Seven Sisters Road later that morning. A man suffered a head injury in a crash.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 9.54am on Saturday (May 30) to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Seven Sisters Road and Hornsey Road, Islington.
“We sent ambulance crews and an incident response officer to the scene. Our first paramedics arrived in less than four minutes. We treated a man for a head injury and took him to a major trauma centre.”
