London broke heat records last week, and now thunderstorms are rolling in
London is set to see thunderstorms as we enter the month of June, according to BBC weather forecasters. After scorching temperatures last week, which saw mercury peak at 34C in parts of the capital, many of us will be shocked to see thunderstorms boom over London.
Tomorrow (Tuesday, June 2) and Thursday, June 4, will be thundery. The wet weather won’t stop there; rain is expected to soak us until Saturday, June 6.
After which things will pick up slightly with temperatures hovering around the 23C mark, peaking at 26C on Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13. The Met Office’s day-to-day forecast doesn’t stretch as far as the BBC’s, but its long-range forecast looks bleak.
It reads: “Changeable early in this period with Atlantic frontal systems moving across the UK. These will bring showers or longer spells of rain at times.”
