A brand new romantic drama show is set to have Off Campus fans absolutely hooked, as it has all the unexpected twists and turns of love and friendship, but with fresh characters. Off Campus premiered on Prime Video on May 13, 2026 with all eight episodes being available to watch immediately.

The show follows the love story between a music student and the university’s star hockey player and delves into the complexities of adulthood through deep friendships and bonds. Many fans of the show have binged all of the episodes in one go and were desperate to find a new show that lives up to the huge hype of the romantic drama, which is based on a number of books from Elle Kennedy.

However, the first reviews have come in for a new Prime Video romantic drama, with people who loved Off Campus being expected to fall in love with the new eight-part series that was released today, Wednesday, June 10.

Every Year After was developed by Amy B. Harris, best known for serving as a writer and producer on Sex and the City, and Leila Gerstein, who won an Emmy for her work on The Handmaid’s Tale, and is based on the novel Every Summer After by Carley Fortune.

The book follows two lifelong friends exploring if your first love is destined to be your soulmate. It has also been compared to The Summer I Turned Pretty, which held audience’s attention for three seasons.

Ambar Driscoll, a self proclaimed fangirl and founder of The Fangirl Nation, an online podcast and book club, was able to watch the series ahead of it’s release and warned Off Campus fans that they would be “emotionally destroyed” by Every Year After.

What do reviewers think of Every Year After?

She said: “Guys, I just watched the first episode of Every Year After. Here are my thoughts so far. No spoilers, just like kind of top line notes that I have.

“First of all, it is so good! I have been waiting for this show for so long because I’m so emotionally attached to the book and when you’re emotionally attached to a book like that you’re obviously nervous about how the screen adaptation is going to be but Prime Video, they know what they’re doing because so far it is so good.

“I cried in the first three minutes of the show. Big book reference. If you haven’t read the book, I don’t think it will hit as hard. But here’s what I liked.

“Prime Video clearly have the best budget for soundtracks ever and whoever is doing the soundtracks, give them a raise because this soundtrack is crazy. They clearly love Maggie Rogers, obviously Maggie Rogers was in Off Campus, Noah Kahn, Billie Eilish, Island in the Sun by Weezer. Every song, I was like, this slaps.

“The way they weave in the flashbacks and also the alternate timing is so smart. In the modern day, you have Percy having memories but then you also get the flashbacks which are different to her memories – if that makes sense.

“The way that they weave between them all, it’s so well done… like, it doesn’t feel shoehorned in. Even the way they do it with the camera angles, I was just like, this is great, fantastic.”

Is Every Year After similar to the Every Summer After book?

Ambar had good news for fans of the original book, and added in that there were word-for-word quotes from the book for fans to enjoy.

She said: “There is word for word book text in this. I haven’t read the book in ages, but some things were said and I was like, that is a direct line from the book. Immaculate summer vibes, I want to go to Barry’s Bay.

“Young Sam is so little and small and cute. .Guys, it’s so good, you’re gonna love it. Is it better than Off Campus? It’s a completely different show, it’s completely different.

“It’s like American Apples and Oranges but as I say, I’m very emotionally attached to this. I love it so far.”

All eight episodes of Every Year After can now be watched on Prime Video
