Play at Wimbledon qualifying in Roehampton was suspended for over an hour on Wednesday due to a power outage that caused the tournament’s Electronic Line Calling (ELC) system to fail amid the extreme heat.
But what is the weather forecast for the tournament itself? Will it rain during the opening days? Or will top seeds crash out amid more gruelling heat?
Wimbledon weather forecast
Fortunately, it looks like there will be neither rain delays nor punishing heat during the opening days of the tournament.
The heatwave seems set to end by Sunday, leaving the entire first week in the mid 20s and with very little chance of rain.

Early in Week Two there will be some chance of drizzle – but most of the day’s play should be able to be completed.
