Neil Ginter, a dad from Plymouth, has not been seen or heard from for more than 24 hours while on holiday in Benidorm
A British father has gone missing after socialising with new acquaintances in Benidorm, with his family left without any contact for more than 24 hours. Neil Ginter has vanished during a holiday to the beloved resort, leaving the mother of his child beside herself with worry.
The Stagecoach bus driver has failed to get in touch with those close to him for over a day, with the Plymouth-based father believed to have struck up friendships with several individuals during his trip abroad.
Terri Purland, who shares a child with Neil, lodged a missing person report on Wednesday (1 Jul), as reported by NeedToKnow. The Brit is described as bald with a distinctive tribal tattoo covering his right arm, tattooed lettering along his left forearm, and a stocky physique.
Concerns amongst his nearest and dearest have been further heightened by Neil’s complete absence from social media activity.
Terri is now making a desperate plea to any expats, tourists, or local residents who may be able to shed any light on his whereabouts, reports the Daily Star.
She said: “Looking for my son’s dad who is in Benidorm but no one has heard from him for over 24 hours. No posts on Facebook or even being active.
“He’s met a few people while there. If anyone has seen or heard from him can you please get in contact.”
Benidorm remains one of the most popular destinations for British holidaymakers during the summer months, attracting approximately 900,000 visitors each year. Neil’s disappearance comes after another British national was successfully traced following their disappearance in Spain.
Michael Hewitt, who was travelling to the USA to watch England at the World Cup, went missing during a transit stop.
The dedicated football fan, nicknamed ‘Little Mick’ by his mates, disappeared in Barcelona on 21 June.
Fortunately, he was found after a 10-day search – ‘blissfully unaware’ his family were desperately looking for him.
The Brit had lost his mobile phone, leaving him stuck and unable to proceed with his journey to the USA or contact relatives back home.
The 65 year old had been watching the tournament from a pub in the Spanish city, with confirmed sightings of him emerging on social media.
Brother Gary Hewitt said: “Little Mick is safe and well in Barcelona, and was blissfully unaware that the world was searching for him.”
