A London bus ploughed into the front window of a home in Notting Hill.

Emergency services were called to the West London house on St Quintin Avenue at around 7.15pm on Thursday, where two cars had also been damaged in the collision.

The route 70 bus appears to have mounted the curb and struck the front of the property, damaging the stairs and dislodging windows.

Transport for London (TfL) said one person suffered a “minor injury”, but no one on the scene required treatment.

A spokesman for London Fire Brigade said: “Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision on Quintin Avenue in Notting Hill yesterday.

“Crews made the scene safe after a bus collided with street furniture and a terraced house. Two cars were also damaged in the collision.

“The Brigade was called at 7.12pm and the incident was over for firefighters by 8.03pm.

“Two fire engines from North Kensington and Hammersmith fire stations and two fire rescue units from Chelsea and Croydon fire stations attended the scene.”

A TfL spokesperson said: “The safety of our customers, colleagues and members of the public is of paramount importance, and we are working closely with the bus operator, First Bus, who are investigating this incident.”

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 7.14pm yesterday to reports of a road traffic collision in St Quintin Avenue, W10.

“We sent a paramedic in fast response car to the scene. Fortunately, no one needed treatment.”

Johnny Thalassites, the lead member for resident services, planning and enforcement at Kensington and Chelsea Council, said he expected an investigation to take place.

“We are aware of the incident and have officers on site, including dangerous structure engineers to assess the damage.

“We’d expect an investigation to be underway to establish the cause, but we’re just glad nobody appears to be seriously hurt.”

The Metropolitan Police have been contacted for comment.
