It took crews over four hours to get the blaze under control
Dramatic photos and footage show a raging fire at an industrial estate in North London. The two-storey warehouse, used for vehicle maintenance, was destroyed, along with part of an adjoining building.
It prompted 100 firefighters across 15 fire engines to tackle the blaze on Watermead Way in Tottenham. There were no reported injuries. Crews arrived at 10.50pm last night (Thursday, July 2) and couldn’t control it until 3am this morning (Friday, July 3). The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “Firefighters have worked extremely hard through the night to extinguish this fire. The amount of smoke being produced by this fire was significant and we advised people, particularly within the Haringey borough area, to continue to keep their windows and doors.
“Whilst most of the fire is now out, deep seated pockets of fire remain and we will maintain a presence on site through the morning. Road closures are in place on Watermead Way at the junction of Leeside Road and we anticipate that motorists will face some disruption during the morning rush hour.”
