A forensics team is reportedly at the scene of the stabbing this afternoon
A man has been taken to hospital following a stabbing in a Chessington cul-de-sac in the early hours of this morning (July 16). The emergency services were first alerted to an incident on Foxglove Lane shortly after 2.20am.
Several paramedics, including a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance, attended the residential area and located the injured man. He was taken to a major trauma centre ‘as a priority’, the London Ambulance Service said in a statement this afternoon.
The man’s age and condition are yet to be released by the Metropolitan Police. A cordon is in place on the adjacent Chantry Road, per local reports. Witnesses have also said several police officers and a forensics team are on scene.
A London Ambulance spokesperson said: “We were called at 2:22am today (July 16) to reports of a stabbing on Foxglove lane, Chessington, KT9. We sent resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer.
“We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance. We treated a patient at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority by road.”
