The 24K Magic singer showed his support for the Three Lions as he kicked off his Romantic Tour residency in London

Bruno Mars had help from a very familiar furry friend as he kicked off his sold-out Romantic Tour residency at Wembley Stadium. The 24K singer brought out an adorable Paddington Bear toy as he belted out chart-topping hits to around 75,000 people during night one of the six-date stint.

The gig came hours before England went head-to-head with France in a astounding battle for third place in the World Cup. In celebration, Mars delighted fans by briefly appearing in a Three Lions scarf and matching Union Jack bucket hat in a moment dubbed ‘fantastic’.

Social media is now flooded with photos and videos of the fun but questionable outfit, as well as praise for the headline show. One impressed fan said: “This was my 2nd time seeing him live and I was blown away again.”

A second wrote: “I chose not to watch England tonight and do something actually enjoyable with my time…anyway Bruno Mars was historic!,” whilst a third added: “Bruno Mars was exceptional tonight! Nice touch bringing Paddington on stage.”

However, not everyone was blown over, with some attendees complaining about the audio. “Sound quality at Bruno Mars at Wembley is disappointing, said one X user, “Muffled and echoey.” A second fumed: “Bruno Mars concert was the worst concert I’ve ever been to wow.”

The show began with Mars praying for a good performance in a pre-recorded video, before emerging in a suit adorned with roses. Taking the audience through funk, pop, and R&B classics, the 40-year-old declared: “London, it’s time to party.”

As the maiden concert drew to a close, Mars returned to the fan favourites that cemented his place as one of the biggest names in music. For Just the Way You Are, the Honolulu native asked for Wembley’s lights to be turned up so he could see the crowd, before Uptown Funk brought the party vibes of 2014.
