The deadline dates for the separate National Lottery and EuroMillions prizes to be claimed from tickets bought in London have been announced
A Croydon resident could be set to lose an ungodly amount of money. The National Lottery’s unclaimed prizes lists all the tickets – nationwide – which have not yet been cashed in.
And it shows that one witless wally hasn’t clocked they’re due £10,000 every month for a year. That works out to an eyewatering £120,000. They bought the ticket for the game draw on April 2 this year where the winning numbers were 2, 3, 8, 27, 39 and Life Ball 7.
The player will lose their winnings if it’s not collected in a certain period of time. If a valid claim is not received within 180 days (around 6 months) of the draw date, the prize and any interest earned on it will go to benefit National Lottery Projects across the UK.
They have just over two months to claim too – until September 29 – and then they’re in trouble. The winnings are courtest of the Set For Life prize.
Across the capital, someone in Haringey is in the same boat. Unlike the Croydonite, they won’t be drip-fed their cash; instead, it’s a one-off injection of £104,628 after winning the Euromillions Match 5 + 1 star prize for the game draw on July 7, which they have until January 3 next year to cash in. The winning numbers were 5, 29, 33, 45, 47 plus Lucky Stars 5, 8.
How to claim
National Lottery Claiming depends on whether you’ve won online, or via a retail product such as a scratch card. If you’ve been playing online and won up to £30,000 you can claim it in-app. All you need to do is confirm the card that is linked to your account by following the instructions in your winning message. This must be done before 11pm on the last day of the claim period.
But if you’ve won big bucks, which in this case is over £30,000 then you need to ring 0333 234 44 33. Things are slightly different for those playing via retail products.
If you’ve won up to £100 you can claim it in-store, whereas those who’ve won between £500 and £50,000 can be claimed online here . If you’ve won £50,000 and up then you have to ring 0333 234 44 33.
