The emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 9pm
A four-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being hit by a car on a high street in Hillingdon last night (July 26). The emergency services were called to The Broadway, in Northwood, shortly before 8.50pm following reports of the collision.
The child remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries, the Metropolitan Police said in a statement. MyLondon is awaiting an update on his condition.
The driver remained at the scene and provided an initial account to officers, the force added. No arrests have been made in connection with this stage.
An investigation is now underway to establish the full circumstances of what happened. A large cordon was set up, with Joel Street shut in both directions at the junction with Ryefield Court whilst enquiries were carried out.
Bus routes 282 and H13 were diverted away from the area but are now running as usual.
The London Ambulance Service has been contacted for more information.
