The appeal and thanks were both shared on social media
A dancehall singer has been reunited with a treasured piece of jewellery after leaving it on a plane. Popcaan, real name Andrae Sutherland, is known for songs like ‘Unruly Prayer’ and ‘Feel Good,’ and is signed to Vybz Kartel’s Gaza Music Empire.
He appealed to BA via social media on Monday (July 27) after leaving his custom-made ring on his flight from London Gatwick, to Kingston, Jamaica.
In a heartfelt message, he wrote: “Just left this ring on British Airways 2263 London to Jamaica JUST NOW!!! Need this ring RETURNED. Just landed and within a few minutes of me realizing I left it in the airline pouch in my seat and tried to get it RETURNED they saying it’s not there. I need the guards or BA to find me that pouch… I NEED MY RING!!”
The heavy ring has ‘unruly state’ printed on the inside, and is typically seen worn on the star’s middle finger. But in a wonderful turn of events, the ring was found and returned to Popcaan, who shared his elation via an Instagram post.
He wrote: “@british_airways thank you to the staff for retrieving my ring, I appreciate the effort. And to the people that was happy I lost it!!”
His fans were most pleased for him and left messages of support in the comments section. One thrilled follower said: “Awesome! Happy that this was so speedily resolved.”
“Who Jah anoint mek nuff mad man disappoint – one unruly,” penned a second. A third raved: “Mek sure you put insurance on you’re jewelry bro. Bless up.”
While a fourth wrote: “A good look bredda!”
Now he’s been repatriated with his bespoke jewlerry, the artist can continue preparing for his upcoming performance at Reggae Land Festival, held at The National Bowl, Milton Keynes, on August 4.
It comes as he recently showed up to Unruly Fest in Crystal Palace.
