This may be an odd change from the four heatwaves we’ve had this year
The latest London weather forecast is in, and it’s ominous. Forecasters down at the BBC are predicting the possibility of thunder next Tuesday (August 4), which may be an odd concept for some, as we’ve just left our fourth heatwave of the year.
It will be 27C, thundery showers and a gentle breeze. The Met Office doesn’t predict thunder that day, but it also says there is a 30 per cent chance of rainfall between 10am and 2pm.
Meanwhile WX Charts predicts heavy rainfall on Monday evening (August 3). The heaviness of the rainfall is characterised by the shading over a given area.
So the orange colouring over London means as much as four inches of rain could fall in an hour.
It came after temperatures peaked at around 39C and 40C in some cases.
