Police have identified the victim and are trying to track them down
A person has been stabbed in Brixton. Police raced to the busy Windrush Square at about 3.30pm on Tuesday (August 4) to reports of a knifing.
They could not find the victim on arrival but officers believe they know who it is and are trying to find them. There have been no arrests, meaning the attacker is on the loose.
Dramatic photos taken at the scene show a large, red police cordon running across the hugely popular square.
A Met spokesperson said: “On Tuesday, August 4, at 3.32pm police were called to reports of a stabbing on Windrush Square, Brixton.
“Officers attended the scene, but the victim left before police arrived. Police have identified the victim and efforts are underway to locate them.
“No arrests have been made at this stage and the crime scene has since been closed. Anyone with information that may assist police is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 4259/4Aug.”
The London Ambulance Service said it did not attend.
