Motorists planning a late-night or early morning should expect disruption
Motorists are being warned to plan ahead tonight as National Highways has confirmed motorway closures in London and the south east.
A new closure report for the evening of Wednesday (August 12) into Thursday (August 13) says three major motorways in Greater London and Kent will be closed in places. Motorways affected are the M2, M20 and M25, so commuters and those heading to the Channel Tunnel could have their journeys disrupted.
“Closures generally run 8pm-6am unless they are over 12 hours,” National Highways warned on its website. “If you are travelling in the early morning, please note that your route may be impacted by closures starting the evening before.”
On Thursday, it appears every road will reopen no later than 6am, aside from a long-term closure at junction 8 of M20.
