All Creatures Great and Small has offered fans their first proper glimpse of the upcoming instalment, with 5 releasing the trailer ahead of the drama’s return later this month.
The Yorkshire-set series, adapted from James Herriot’s beloved memoirs, is preparing for a seventh run that moves the story into 1946.
But while the war is firmly behind them and Skeldale House full once more, there are still challenges ahead.
James and Siegfried must contend with the arrival of new vet, Granville Bennett, while Helen is forced to have a frank conversation with her dad Richard about the future of the farm.
“We need to start saying goodbye to the old way of life and starting a new one.”
Elsewhere, Helen and James’s eldest, Jimmy, officially starts school and Mrs Hall adjusts to Siegfried and Dorothy’s deepening relationship, while Tristan’s relationship with Charlotte is threatened by the prospect of her potentially leaving.
You can enjoy the emotional trailer below.
According to the season 7 story details, “James is excited about new developments in veterinary medicine, but a new vet in the area threatens the status quo”.
It continues: “The world at large may be changing, but inside this slice of Yorkshire, the Dales will always offer the same perfect escapism.
“Packed with warmth, humour and community spirit, the series brings more heartwarming tales of people and animals alike.”
