Police later went to a nearby house and found a pile of suspected firearms
A man was rushed to hospital yesterday morning (Thursday, September 10) after being attacked and stabbed on a residential street in Dagenham, East London.
Police were first called 10.42am to Rusper Road, not far from Becontree Tube station, to reports of a stabbing. There they found the victim – a man in his 20s – and paramedics got him to hospital.
Doctors treated him for injuries to his arm and found that the wounds were neither life-threatening nor life-changing.
As police investigated, their inquiries led them to the nearby Clementhrope Road, also in Dagenham. They searched the place and found ‘a number of suspected firearms’.
It’s not currently clear how all this links to the stabbing, but eight men and two women between the ages of 30 and 60 were arrested on suspicion of firearms offences. They’re all still in police custody.
Police have said that enquiries are ongoing.

“At around 10:42hrs on Thursday, 10 September, officers responded to reports of a stabbing on Rusper Road, Dagenham.
“Officers attended the scene and found a man in his 20s with injuries to his arm. He was taken to hospital, where his injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening and non-life-changing.
“As part of enquiries, officers attended an address on Clementhorpe Road, Dagenham. During a search of the property, a number of suspected firearms were recovered.
“Eight men and two women, aged between 30 and 60, were arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and remain in police custody. “Enquiries remain ongoing.”
