The pair are due in court next month
Two Metropolitan Police officers have been charged with assaulting a man they arrested during a vehicle stop.
PC Jason Mugg, 30, and former PC Darren Boast, 40, are accused of using ‘unnecessary and disproportionate force’ in the 2023 incident.
A 34-year-old man had to be taken to hospital after being pulled over in Carlyle Avenue, Southall, on August 14 of that year.
Both officers were charged with assault causing actual bodily harm on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, following an investigation by the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards.
They appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court yesterday (September 16) and bailed to appear at Isleworth Crown Court on Wednesday, October 14.
PC Mugg is attached to the West Area Command Unit. Former PC Boast was attached to the same unit at the time of the allegations.
