Your guide to spooky and scary film screenings in London around Halloween 2026. Find other Halloween parties, events, and things to do in London this year. And don’t forget to swing by one of these fancy dress shops for a costume.

HorrOctober at Prince Charles Cinema, Leicester Square

Leicester Square’s beloved Prince Charles Cinema once again hosts its HorrOctober season — a month of scary/gory films. And as you’d expect from the cinephiles who run the place, it’s not just the obvious flicks. Sure, The Exorcist (Extended Cut), A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Shining and Nosferatu all get multiple airings. But also on the programme are 2009 release Jennifer’s Body, and 2013 sci-fi horror Under the Skin, in which Scarlett Johansson is a killer extra-terrestrial who preys on Scottish men.

Halloween itself is an absolute fright-fest, including a sing-a-long screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show (more poignant than ever this year for obvious reasons), and a Halloween marathon, with all six films from the Michael Myers franchise shown back-to-back.

Hitchcock for Halloween at the Chiswick Cinema

Five movies directed by the Master of Suspense, Alfred Hitchcock, are shown at the Chiswick Cinema over October, including early film, The Lodger, which is presented with a live viola score from Hugo Max.

Halloween films at BFI Southbank, South Bank

The BFI’s spooky screenings including a preview of brand new comedy Ghosts: The Possession of Button House, alongside horror standards like 1958’s Dracula and Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride. Ken Russell’s 1971 historical psychological horror-drama The Devils — starring Vanessa Redgrave and Oliver Reed — is screened on multiple dates over October, and way into November.

Spooky season 2026 at Rooftop Cinema Club, Peckham

Summer staple Rooftop Cinema Club is keeping its Peckham doors open for Halloween, showing spooky films in the run-up to 31 October. Choose between Scream, Psycho, Hocus Pocus and a mystery “Secret Scream” surprise screening. On Halloween itself, there’s a family-friendly showing of Hocus Pocus.

Halloween films at Clapham Grand, Clapham Junction

Clapham Grand loooves Halloween: it’s putting on a frightening amount of events in October, including film screenings. There’s a Hocus Pocus Movie Night on 28 October, with the film shown on a 25ft screen alongside themed cocktails, a ‘witchiest costume’ competition and dance-offs. That’s followed with The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Halloween itself (31 October) with a drag host, full sing-along, dance-offs and another costume competition. It’s certainly easy having a good time here!

General Witchfinders present Dr Jekyll & Sister Hyde at ActOne Cinema, Acton

Just the one Halloween film at ActOne, but they’re making the most of it. The General Witchfinders podcast team bring a night of trivia, tangents and laughs to this indie cinema, with a screening of Hammer’s 1971 gender-swapping curiosity Dr Jekyll & Sister Hyde, followed by a live recording of the podcast.

Halloween film screening at Genesis Cinema, Mile End

Screening suitably late (9pm) on 31 October, the Genesis is going with all-time classic 1978 horror flick, Halloween. Cue nightmares about Michael Myers, and not the funny one.

Brentford’s enchanting Musical Museum occasionally screens silent films, with live musical accompaniment on its Wurlitzer organ. For Halloween 2026 it’s showing The Bat — a 1926 mystery about a wealthy socialite who rents a country mansion, only to find herself caught in a web of terror woven by a masked criminal known as The Bat…

Dracula screenings at David Lean Cinema, Croydon

Halloween itself sees a double bill of Dracula classics at this pint (of blood)-sized cinema: Hammer’s 1958 version of Dracula, starring Christopher Lee, made the actor a household name. The screening is pre-empted with a 10-minute short exploring the film’s recent restoration. The second movie of the night (a separate screening, though discounts are available for those watching both) sees Lee return to the nefarious role in 1966’s Dracula Prince of Darkness.

Halloween 2026 at Nickel Cinema, Clerkenwell

A handful of Halloweeny horrors are on the bill at alternative venue Nickel Cinema, which shows four deep-cut psychotronic horror films per day across Halloween and the following day: Expect (among other horrors) disreputable sleaze and eye-popping oddities that have slipped through the cracks of horror history, with all titles remaining a secret until showtime. Go for one or two films, or book a weekend pass and attend all eight. Costumes very much encouraged.
