Police have set up a cordon on a major road in Islington following an incident. Blue-and-white tape is currently in place in front of The Kings pub on Essex Road, in Angel, at the junction with Packington Street.
A number of shops are also blocked, and the road appears to be shut to traffic. The adjacent St Mary’s Path and a section of Upper Street are reportedly sealed off too.
The nature of the incident and what time it took place is currently unclear. Transport for London is diverting five bus routes away from the area until the scene is cleared.
The Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service have been contacted for more information.
