The route is the only one in the capital to finish in front of Buckingham Palace
Thousands of runners will descend on Zone 1 when the Vitality London 10,000 kicks off this weekend. Crowds hoping to smash their PBs are setting off from The Mall at around 10am on Sunday, September 27, before journeying past some of the capital’s most iconic sights.
The route loops past the likes of Nelson’s Column, St Paul’s Cathedral, and the Houses of Parliament, and finishes outside Buckingham Palace. Now in its 18th year, the road race is one of the most popular in the UK, with more than 17,000 people taking part in 2025.
Sports stars Mo Farah, Eilish McColgan, and David Weir have all set records on the course since its inception in 2008. Runners, both professional and amateur, can celebrate at the Wellness Festival in Green Park, with freebies, entertainment, and activities all on offer.
Public transport and roads surrounding the event are expected to be extremely busy, with closures in place from Friday morning.
