MyLondon spoke to Demi, travelling from Harlow, Essex to New Romney, Kent.
Demi is about ’30 cars from the front,’ and can see multiple emegrency services incidents.
Demi said: “I’m around 30 cars from the front. Traffic came to a standstill around 10.15/10.30. Haven’t moved. Several ambulance, police cars, fire engines and specialist response. Some have stayed at the bottom of the bridge some have gone up the bridge – heard reports of a jumper from socials.
“No signs of a crash or anyone / anything being transported away. Heard reports that they are going to open the tunnel but this hasn’t happened. Around 20 minutes ago I saw several emergency service vehicles come back down the bridge. Still no update. Very frustrating, not sure why they haven’t put contingency plans in as they have mentioned.”
