Labour has maintained control of Redbridge Council despite taking a hefty dent into its majority by losing 11 seats in the 2026 local elections. Labour now has 43 out seats out of 63, enough to keep an overall majority in Redbridge, but the result represents a notable shift in the borough’s political landscape.
Independents made the biggest gains of the night, picking up five additional seats to finish with nine. The Green Party also made strong gains, winning five seats after previously holding none, while Reform won their first seat on the council.
The Conservatives held steady with five seats, recording no change from the previous election.
