The breadth of London’s Black cultural and creative talent will be showcased at the fourth edition of Black On The Square.
The free one-day festival takes place Saturday 5 September 2026 in Trafalgar Square. The line-up includes:
🎤 Main stage performances from Tomorrow’s Warriors (celebrating 35 years of jazz); MOBO Unsung (marking 30 years of supporting emerging R&B and hip-hop artists); artists from the Notting Hill Carnival (2026 is its 60th year); LatinoLife (marking 20 years with Viva Sound System, with an an Afro-Latin music showcase featuring reggaeton, baile funk, merengue, bachata and salsa).
🎨 Activities for children and young people including face painting and art workshops.
🍗 Black-owned food stalls — plus live cooking demos.
🎲 The chance to play ludi and dominoes.
🎪 Other stalls offering wellbeing sessions, financial advice surgeries, free blood pressure checks and more.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “I’m delighted that Black On The Square returns to once again celebrate the incredible contribution of our Black communities. This free family event has become a key part of our cultural calendar, bringing Londoners and visitors of all backgrounds together for a showcase of how London’s Black communities have shaped the sound, flavour and soul of our city for generations.”
The event is now an annual fixture, joining a host of others held in Trafalgar Square, including Diwali, Eid, St Patrick’s Day, Lunar New Year, Vaisakhi and St George’s Day.
