Three forecasters have the same miserable forecast for the capital
We’re due rain – heavy, in spells – and maybe even thunder and lightning tomorrow (Sunday, September 13). BBC weather experts predict ‘thundery showers and a gentle breeze’ with the wet weather set to start at around 6am and then picking up at about 8am.
Thunder and lightning could roll in later in the morning, at aroud 10am. It currently has a 47% chance, according to the BBC’s latest forecast.
As ever, these forecasts shouldn’t be taken as Gospel – they are predictions on a likelihood scale. In other words, there is no guarantee that it will be raining or that the skies will be lit up by lightning. The BBC is predicting as much, however, to allow you to plan your Sunday accordingly.
The Met Office’s forecast isn’t quite as damning, but it still forecasts wet weather between 5am and 11am, so it’s safe to say umbrellas and raincoats are necessary. WX Charts however does have a miserable prediction.
A weather map shows rain clouds over the capital at about 9am tomorrow. The heaviness of the rain is represented by shading, which suggests that London will be soaked by as much as 0.4mm of rain per hour.
This may be a pleasant change from the scorching weather we’ve had over the weekend which saw the thermostat rocket to as high as 38.1C, with six heatwaves recorded.
