Detectives have launched a CCTV appeal to identify the man pictured
A woman has allegedly been sexually assaulted on the London Underground at rush hour, prompting a CCTV appeal. The incident happened on the Central line at around 8.05am on Tuesday, September 29.
The female passenger boarded a service at Mile End station and was sexually assaulted by a man who got on at the same time.
The perpetrator then got off at Bethnal Green before boarding again at the next set of doors.
The British Transport Police (BTP) is yet to make an arrest in connection. The force is now releasing footage of a person that investigators need to identify.
“Detectives would like to speak to the man pictured, as they believe he may have information which could help their ongoing investigation,” reads a statement issued at midday today.
The image shows a man in his 20s or 30s with short dark-coloured hair, stubble or a trimmed beard, and a moustache.
He is wearing a black t-shirt under a black jacket, and appears to be wearing a backpack with black straps.
Anyone who recognises him is urged to contact BTP as soon as possible.
Elsewhere in London, detectives continue to hunt a man who sexually assaulted a woman at Parsons Green station before leaving through the barriers.
This took place just after midnight on October 13.
